Tony Pletcher was born in Perryton, Texas on July 15, 1950. He graduated from the University of Houston (BA, 1972) and St. Mary’s School of Law (JD, 1975). He began his trial practice in Corpus Christi and South Texas with the law firm of Allison, Maddin, White & Brin where he met Van Huseman with whom he practiced for 31 years. Together they founded the law firm of Huseman & Pletcher, PC. Mr. Pletcher joined Watts Guerra Craft LLP as a partner in the summer of 2006 and is the managing partner of the firm’s office in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Tony Pletcher is an “AV” rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell. He was selected by his peers to be included in “Best Lawyers in America” in personal injury law (2008, 2009). Mr. Pletcher’s practice focuses on product liability, personal injury, auto, truck and tire defects, drug-medical device torts, complex business-commercial litigation, oil-gas cases and, admiralty-maritime matters.
He is licensed in Texas and Tennessee; United States Supreme Court; US Court of Appeals (5th Circuit); US Court of Claims; US District Court/Southern, Eastern, Western and Northern-Texas. He is a member of American Bar Association; State Bars of Tennessee and Texas (Texas Lawyers Assistance Program, 1984-2009; District 11-A Grievance Committee, 1989-1995; Chairman, 1991–1995; State Court Rules Committee, 1995-1999; Vice Chairman 1996–1997); Texas Bar Foundation-Sustaining Life Fellow; Texas Trial Lawyers Association; American Association for Justice (Foundation-Sustaining Life Member); American Board of Trial Advocates (Charter Member-Advocate, Corpus Christi Chapter; Chapter President 2003-2004; National Board of Directors 2005-2009, Foundation- Sustaining Life Fellow; TEX-ABOTA (Director 1997-2005); Attorneys Information Exchange Group; Corpus Christi Bar Association-recipient 2005 Outstanding Professionalism Award; Port of Corpus Christi (Commissioner 2000-2003). He is a board member of the St. Mary’s Law School Alumni Association and a founding trustee of St. Mary’s Law Foundation and serves on many civic boards and foundations throughout South Texas.
